Palma Ceia Low-Slope Shingle Transition Rebuild
The homeowner had water leaking through the ceiling of their Florida room every time an afternoon storm rolled in. Two previous handymen had smeared black roofing tar across the seam where the porch met the primary shingle roof, which cracked and trapped water against the wood fascia.
We removed the bottom courses of shingles, stripped the cracked tar down to bare wood, replaced two sheets of water-damaged sub-fascia, and installed a self-adhering SBS modified bitumen system. We tied it 18 inches up the sloped roof under an ASTM D1970 waterproof barrier and custom transition flashing.
Completely watertight transition with zero leaks, zero tar odors, and clean curb appeal that matched the main home.
