Ybor City (Restaurant & Kitchen)
Overflowing fryer exhaust hoods on a busy 7th Avenue restaurant had saturated the existing asphalt roof in animal fats, turning the membrane into a soft, spongy mess that leaked directly into the kitchen prep line during afternoon storms.
Working during early morning off-hours so the dining room never missed a lunch service, we stripped the grease-rotted materials down to the deck, installed rigid polyiso insulation, and mechanically fastened a commercial 60-mil PVC system. We hand-welded heavy-duty PVC curb wraps around both exhaust hoods and installed new rooftop grease containment boxes.
Completely stopped kitchen ceiling leaks, delivered a chemical-proof and Class A fire-rated roof that cooking oils cannot break down, and satisfied city health and building inspectors on the first walkthrough.
